American automaker Ford is finally opening the pre-booking of its much-awaited SUV EcoSport Facelift on Sunday. Ford has tied up with e-commerce giant Amazon to sell its all-new EcoSport. The bookings will be for 24 hours today. The Facelift is slated to be launched on 9 November.

The company is offering e-booking of the SUV for a token amount of Rs 10,000. Only 123 people will be able to book the compact SUV on Amazon.Comprehensively redesigned with close to 1600 new parts, the all-new Ford EcoSport builds on the dynamic appeal of its predecessor, starting with a reshaped front, and a large upper trapezoidal grille and lower grille that make it unmistakably a member of the Ford family of SUVs.

Ford has come up with two engine variants in 1.5L diesel and petrol each, as the 1.0 ecoboost engine has been discontinued in the facelift. The new 1.5-litre Ti-VCT engine now comes with 3-cylinder and produces 120 bhp and 150 Nm of torque.The connectivity is now upgraded to works with Sync 3 and will support mobile navigation like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

On the safety front, the new SUV’s top variant comes fitted with 6 airbags. Other variants will come with dual airbags as standard and will also get Ford’s Emergency Assistance System that will automatically connect to the emergency services in case of any accident.

Other features include ABS (Anti-lock braking) that will be standard across all trims. While the AT variant gets Hill Launch Assist, traction control and cruise control features.The final price is yet to be disclosed by the company but we expect it to fall in the range of Rs 8-12 lakh. At this price, the EcoSport will be competing with Tata Nexon, Hyundai Creta and Maruti Vitara Brezza.
